Homesteading

Attempting to homestead is one of my main goals, but to be honest, I jump all over the place with ideas on what to do next. What I have learned though, is that I need to start out slow, and actually try to finish one homesteading goal before moving on to another!

Along with 3 indoor dogs and 2 indoor cats, we have a few outdoor critters you would typically find on a small homestead nowadays.

Right now, these are the major homesteading animal projects.

**Chickens

**Ducks

**Bees

**Rabbits

Gardening on the homestead is a large, ever evolving project. Laying out the groundwork so we have garden boxes and trees that will produce food is full of big decisions. Right now we have a few apple trees, a pear tree, mulberry trees, and wild black raspberry bushes that were already on the property when we purchased it.

We have added strawberry garden boxes, blueberry bushes, and red raspberry bushes.

Our Indoor Companions

Apollo, our 9 year old American Eskimo Dog. He loves growling at everyone.
Loki, our tiger-striped fat cat. He is obessed with treats and laying in Lexi's bed.
Artemis is our 2 year old American Eskimo Dog. She's our firecracker, born on the fourth of July in a litter of all girls. She is energetic and mouthy, but such a sweetheart.
Freya is our Tortoise Shell cat, and sister to Loki. She's a bit of a recluse, so she loves to perch somewhere high and watch events unfold.
Tim is our 6 month old English Creme Retriever. The breeder couldn't sell him because he has a heart condition, so we took him in hoping to give him the best life possible!
