This Summer was going to be full of small adventures. We wanted to stay close to home this year, with a new dog in the mix, day trips or an overnight stay seemed more manageable than a week or more bigger vacation away from the homestead.
Then, my future was discussed, and a hysterectomy was brought up. With homeschooling and Girl Scouts, Summer was the logical choice to schedule surgery, and that occurred on July 1st, leaving me with 6 weeks in the middle of Summer where doing anything overly physical is against the doctor’s orders. That put a damper on our Summer Fun List…
Of course, the list we’ve made above still applies. They are all things I would love to happen, and technically Fall doesn’t start until the end of September, so there is still plenty of Summer left after my recovery time is over. For now though, we are taking it slow. It’s only been 2 weeks since surgery, so our focus is more on staying close to the house until I can handle more physical activity.
For now I’ll enjoy the country views, and hope that we can at least check off some of the boxes between now and the first day of Fall!
Until next time…
