Martial Arts – More Than Phys. Ed.

10:00 am | |

Karate is something the girls have been doing for a long time, 8 years in fact! They are learning Kenpo at Tracy’s Karate in Wooster. In the next year or two, Lexi and Lilly should be at a black belt! We do karate all year round, although Summer does get spotty.

We are not athletic, so when the girls were little, we decided karate would be a great sport to get into. Not only does it keep them active, but these are moves that can prove useful in real life if they ever find themselves in an unwanted altercation. The instructor is amazing, the girls love going, and I’m amazed at all of the moves they can remember!

Karate isn’t just a Physical Education credit for homeschooling. It also teaches discipline, creates confidence, relieves stress, and lets the kids do it in a fun and safe environment. If you are not an overly athletic person, karate may be just the sport you are looking for!

Until Next Time…
