Our main Father’s Day event was driving 35 minutes to pick up Chile’s carside to go for lunch! Yum!
Today was a lazier day. We did work a touch on the playset, and managed to build and install a ladder to the top deck, and then started brainstorming joists to finish off the top decking near the tree trunk. We realized we would need some additional hardware, which is where we pulled the plug…
Why did we pull the plug instead of running into town and getting the hardware? Budget! Luke is seriously considering building an airplane (he’s currently watching more YouTube videos). This is a serious push for him to help us stick to a budget so we can get our current debt load paid down. I’ve written out some budget goals, and started a 5 year plan, but here is the budget first wave for debt payoff.
1. Garden soil – this will finish off my planter boxes. I’m hoping to use homestead cash to fund this.
2. Septic – we just had to get it pumped out for the first time since living here, so this was an un-budgeted expense.
3. College – This is the last payment for my Empires of the Ancient World class.
4. Torrid – this will payoff the Torrid credit card.
5. Playset hardware – this is an estimate that will help us finish off bracing and decking.
6. Pool – IF, and that’s a big if, we get the ground leveled and the pool frame assembled, we will need a liner. We may need to rent a bobcat for this, which would be additional to this.
7. Property Taxes – due every 6 months. 🤷♀️
8. Huntington card – this is a small balance credit card we pay $40 per month on, and I’d love to put extra money on it to pay it off ASAP.
9. Braces – Lexi’s braces will be paid off in November. It’s 0% interest, and I can’t wait for this payment to be done!
So this is our first wave. This is what the homesteading cash from eggs and honey, and my part time paychecks are going to!
Stay safe! ☄🌟
